Quotes of the Week

"We tell lies when we are afraid... Afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger." -Tad Williams

"The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you, simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people." -Unknown

Every time he went home,
He was alone.
He sat back and watched the world,
Never learning to interact.
Insecurities thrived in his heart
And his fears continued to rattle his bones.
He could not handle tasks
That contained the basics of love.
He never received it,
In return he did not know how to give it.
This boy stays in the shadow
with no ability to change.
There is one man who taught him this way,
Who taught him this life,
His hopeless heart only knows to destroy.
Never will he learn to love,
Even though I pray he does.

Quotes of the Week

"The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written." -Melody Beattie

The Middle by Julia Johnson

The Middle

They stood together in the rain, watching each other's eyes as little drops of water streaked down their cheeks. "What is it?" she asked. "What do you want?" Her eyes blurred, but she couldn't tell if it was from the rain or her tears. She knew the answer before he said anything. "I can't do this anymore," he whispered. She heard her heart shatter. "Tell me," she said. He looked at her. Her face was like an open book, completely bare, completely vulnerable. "I never loved you," he said without breaking eye contact. He lied to her. She ran away and never looked back.

He hated himself

He loved her more.
